Many Spanish cyclists have featured in the Tour de France and won it. Miguel Indurain, a Spaniard, is one of the few who won the coveted yellow jersey in the Tour de France five consecutive times. When the Tour de France goes through the Pyrenees in Spain, many supporters line up the sloping roads and cheer their compatriots.
Bullfighting in Spain
Bullfighting is a unique sport that can be found almost exclusively in Spain since the 17th century. Among the many Spain sports that abound in Spain, this is the most culturally based and also a controversial one. Many animal rights activists frown down on this sport but many of the Spaniards continue to watch and cheer this sport. It consists of a group or a single matador that flirts with danger as it tries to irritate the bulls into charging into their red capes.
